Digital Volume tomography (DVT)

Digital volume tomography facilitates the three-dimensional imaging of jaws and teeth with much less exposure to radiation, compared to computer tomography (CT). The high resolution of 0.075mm (voxel size) of our Kodak 9000 3D makes it possible to show exactly even small structures.

Digital volume tomography offers better diagnostic and therapeutic options for several fields in dentistry.

  • Implantology: Secure surgery planning with respect to important anatomical structures e.g. nerves and maxillary sinus.
  • Implantology: Optimal use of the existing bone material and avoidance of bone augmentation procedures.
  • Implantology: Planning of smooth, minimally invasive implants.
  • Gum treatments: Three-dimensional imaging of bone loss in the case of gum diseases, carried out prior to (and as a preparation for) the regenerative therapy.
  • Endodontics: Representation of even more complex root canal structures. Improved diagnosis in case of inflammations in the area of the roots.
